Please Give Me a Job!

Recently I was involved in a debate about a man surviving off of a $7.00 an hour job while providing for 2 kids. This debate was sparked due to my belief that anyone with a felony does not get a legitimate opportunity to become anything more than a repeat felon. Now I’m not a felon and I have a high school diploma, but the job searches I perform seem to constantly bring job that only offer around $10 bucks an hour. And not only that, but they put you through all type of crap just to get those penny pinching jobs.

This article is somewhat aimed at anyone with a criminal record who is serious about getting on a more righteous path, but just needs a push. This article will also benefit anyone who wants a better job that they actually won’t despise going to. But, keep in mind that if you want anything good to happen for you then you have to be willing to put in the hard work.

Independent vs. Dependent

Dependent

Although the government programs that allow single mothers to get discounts on food, housing and probably other things are great, they also allow the mindset of being dependent to set in. And not only a dependency on the government to HELP you but, a dependency on people to GIVE you a job, GIVE you a discount or GIVE you a break. Nobody has to give you anything so stop begging and expecting.

Independent

My view of being independent is simple; Self sufficiency. One vital difference between America today and America of the 50’s (besides hate and ignorance) is the self sufficiency of people & families. More people grew their own food, knew how to fix their cars and make many home repairs. These days we depend on big corporations or other people to fix our problems. We always say that we don’t have time, but we do. And although there are many things that should be left to trained professionals, there are still things that a man should be able to do for himself and his family. But, then again men are being cowards and not taking care of their families at all. (That’s an entire book in itself)

Resolve

I’m convinced that all problems can be resolved and the solution doesn’t have to be making $7.00 an hour with 2 kids in the United States of America. Nor do you have to risk your freedom by doing immoral things like selling drugs or robbing people. One of the most invaluable resources in this nation is the Public Library. If you need to learn how to read better, start a business, market yourself, improve your social skills, use a computer, use the internet, type faster, find better job opportunities or improve yourself in general then the Public Library is the place you need to be at CONSTANTLY. Your kids can go there as well.

Instead of waiting on a job to call you, I suggest creating a job. Anyone who has ever sold drugs is already an entrepreneur. You just chose the wrong career path. Why don’t you write down at least 40 things you like to do or do well and seek out ways to make money from them? There is so much more I could say, but need the desire to change first. Most of the people I grew up with are either felons or dead. PERIOD. And the ones who want to change I go out of my way to help them. But, the ones who want to go back to prison, rather physically or mentally, I don’t intervene, because who am I to stop someone from doing what they want to do?

In closing, I realize that everyone is not cut out for business, but I’d much rather try my hand at running my own show than waiting on a job to GIVE me a chance or the government to GIVE me a hand out. Because, when that job folds or the government program is discontinued, what are you going to do then?

Online Law Degree

Now that the Internet has made higher education more accessible, why would anyone still think it was advisable to go to school to become a lawyer? If you can go online learning law, you'd be saved transportation fees, as well as the time it takes to commute from your residence to campus. Time is, in fact, one of the biggest factors that drive people to consider online schooling: some people, notably family people and working professionals, find it hard to afford the time to participate in classroom activities.

So, why go to school to become a lawyer, when you can be online learning law? Make no mistake, there are still a number of advantages to classroom education. The lessons you learn in a classroom are no more difficult than the lessons you have to learn online, for one thing. Getting a college degree online is no piece of cake! Just because a course is offered online, doesn't mean you can escape from mountains of reading material, harrying term paper and exam deadlines, terror teachers, and the scrutiny of your peers.

The thing is, classroom education, especially for lawyers, provides an entirely different learning atmosphere. You are better able to know your classmates and recognize them as colleagues, for example - you have more time to understand their professional styles, and get a better feel of the environment you will be getting into as a lawyer. Of course, if you are already working in a law office while taking the course, you may already be as immersed as you feel you should be. Still, there is nothing like building new connections and interpersonal relationships inside a classroom.

You can still correspond with your classmates online through email and private messaging, of course. There are also the occasional meetup and group research activities, which could be a good launchpad for getting to know your classmates online.

Incidentally, some schools may still offer "correspondence courses" or "distance learning" programs - these may not be offered online, but the same principle behind online learning applies. The school sends you the materials (or at least the required reading list, depending on your arrangement with the faculty and the admissions department) by post, and you complete the course requirements on your own schedule. The important thing is that you submit all the requirements on time.

More and more schools that offer distance learning programs are discovering the power of the Internet. If you can go online learning law, you can also discover the advantages of taking your classes online. But never dismiss the importance of a classroom education!

Bestwebschool.com provides you with info on Online learning education, law enforcement training online and much more, come take a look at http://www.bestwebschool.com/

Photography Schools

Photography school can offer anyone from any background the opportunity to learn a new craft and start a business out of the knowledge gained. One of the oldest schools is the New York Institute of Photography.

Since 1910, this school has been helping photographers all over the world thru their correspondence courses. With the main three classes they offer, anyone no matter whether a novice or experienced photographer can gain the knowledge needed to get started in this upscale business.

The beginning class that is offered teaches the fundamentals of digital photography. Even someone who just purchased a new digital camera can take this class and learn exactly how to use this new piece of equipment that seem foreign even after reading the many manuals that come with the camera.

The school gives the student a professional advisor that can be contacted anytime, DVDs, and online access to their system in order to ensure that the student succeeds. With this kind of help, anyone would do well and learn from the institute.

Another course that this particular photography school offers is the digital photography complete course. With this course, Adobe PhotoShop will be completely taught. The instruction will include how to "to retouch photos, post pictures on the web and how to take better digital photographs."

Also taught in this course will be how to restore old black and white photography pictures that may have suffered damage with age. This instruction is always helpful to photographers because many people have old photographs that need restoring, and they are not sure who to take them to or what to do to restore them.

By having this instruction at this photography school, the future photographer will enhance anyone's budding photography business.

The last course that this particular school offers is more than likely the most important. The NYI complete course in professional photography is the last correspondence course that this school offers.

Here the photography student will learn all of the in's and outs of the photography business including: wedding photographers. nature photography, art photography, and many more.

If someone is serious about becoming a professional photographer, this is the course that is for them. After completing the other two courses, this one is the icing on the cake for the budding photographer.

The photography school called the New York Institute of Photography is a great place for a newbie photographer to get started on the right track. Instead of having to attend classes on campus, classes are all correspondence, and a person can still continue with their daily lives while they attend photography school.

So, if someone is looking for an affordable and fun way to get started in the business, a suggestion is to check out the New York Institute of Photography.

The art of digital photography brings great memories to anyone. Browse to Mike Selvon portal to find out more about photography school. We greatly appreciate your feedback at our photography blog.

Highest Paying Jobs

by Michael Russell

Let's face it. Most people go to work because they need money, not because they love going to work. And for many of these people, they don't even care what they are doing just so that they make the most money possible. For those of you who fall into this category, what follows is a list of some of the more higher paying jobs for college and non college folks. Hopefully, you'll find something that pays you what you're looking for.

For those of you who don't have a college degree, don't fret, There are actually some pretty high paying jobs out there that don't require you to have a formal education.

If you're interested in cars and know your way around the insides of one, you may want to consider becoming an auto mechanic. This job pays an average of about $14.71 per hour depending on where you live of course. That's well over $550 for a 40 hour work week. Just plan on going home good and dirty each night.

If you're not good with fixing cars but are great at driving them, you might want to consider becoming a truck driver. You average truck driver makes about $15.97 per hour. One good thing about the job is that you're pretty much on your own for the day and don't have to worry about your boss being all over you from 9 to 5.

Believe it or not, one of the higher paying jobs that don't require a college degree is that of a police officer. The average cop makes about $22.00 per hour. Sure, you have to contend with bullets flying all over the place but after a while even that gets to be pretty mundane. Okay, being a cop is dangerous. But it does pay well. If you like to live dangerously, this may be just the thing for you.

Of course, if you have a college degree, you're going to get the higher paying jobs.

One of the most common jobs today, especially with the advances in technology, is the job of computer programmer. The average computer programmer makes about $23.19 per hour and this is actually one of the lower paid college required jobs. That's probably because of the glut of programmers on the market.

Of course if you really want to get technical and make even more money, you can become an engineer, of which there are many kinds such as electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, chemical engineers, civil engineers and on and on. The average engineer makes $33.50 per hour. That's well over $1300 a week or over $65,000 a year. Not too shabby.

But if you're really looking for big bucks and have 20-20 vision, then maybe you'd like to become an airline pilot. Don't laugh. Airline pilots make an average of $95.80 per hour. Sure, there's always the dangers involved, which we won't even get into here, but that is one great hourly rate for taking people from one place to another.

There are many good high paying jobs in the world. You just have to be qualified to do them. That is the hard part.

List of Job Search Engine

Here I've tried to put a list of job search engines. Nowadays, looking for a job is easy; this is because of the Job Search Engines. These employment search engines allows you to look for job vacancies on a certain country, city or even globally. What these job search engines do is create a huge list of jobs, which came from different organization or companies. Then, they categorized them so that job hunters can easily find a job appropriate for them.

This process also provide great convenience to job seekers since the search process has been narrowed down into just job listings instead of using a regular search engine that may provide you a long list of results and most of them may not even be associated with the job you are looking for.

Unlike the job ads in newspapers or some TV programs, which can only provide you limited search ads and you cannot go back to the ads posted the other day, job search engines provides a wide range of selection and are searchable as long as the job is still offered by the company. However, some job search engines are limited only to certain regions or countries so you may want to check the services offered before choosing a job search engine.

There are several job categories in which you can choose from like:
  • Driving jobs
  • Medical jobs
  • Marketing jobs
  • Work at home jobs
  • City jobs
  • Computer jobs
  • Information technology
  • Data entry jobs
  • It jobs

Careers In The Fashion Industry

Careers In The Fashion IndustryBy Tony Jacowski

A thing of beauty is a joy forever! This thought holds complete significance in the fashion industry. It is an exciting industry that attracts many brilliant, ambitious, creative, talented, committed and hard working people. Success in the fashion industry calls for an ultimate passion and enthusiasm to achieve set targets. The desires to create, see, explore and appreciate beauty must be inherent. It’s a creative field and one needs to possess as well as acquire certain skills that are indispensable, such as thinking creatively beyond the obvious and the ability to carve a niche in almost all the possible projects by making it different yet stunning than the previous one.

Careers in the fashion industry revolve around beauty. In order to be successful in this field you should have the unquenchable thirst for beauty in its all-relevant forms. Changing fashion statements determine the change in the trend of clothing, ornamenting and above all, adopting new ways of carrying oneself.

It is the style that brings elegance with a difference in different designs. Style is an individual aspect. No two people can have exactly the same style statement because every person has a unique style of their own. Therefore, the concepts related to fashion are also different. Some people feel that fashion is the passion of the slaves and that is why they try to dress and carry themselves in a manner similar to that of models walking on the ramp. This thought is challenged by a different thought – those who go against the fashion trends are themselves the slaves of the fashion.

No matter what different concepts abound, fashion is a career industry that is never going to fade. There are immense opportunities in this field, as you can opt for any of the following job prospects pertaining to your areas of interest: modeling, catwalk choreography, fashion photography, designing, merchandising, make- up artists, hair styling, and accessory designing.

Fashion modeling career: Modeling is a promising career that requires having a certain confidence and a pleasing appearance that needs to confirm to the basic standards of fashion designers. One needs to have an inclination towards glitz and glamour, as it is part and parcel of this industry. There are many fashion model training institutes which you can search online. There is a separate article on "how to become a fashion model".

Catwalk Choreography: Catwalk Choreography aims at training models to present their attire in an appealing and professional way. Designers hire talented choreographers because they know that every movement with the background music counts on the ramp. It can make or break an entire fashion show.

Fashion Photography: Fashion Photography is a very demanding career that requires the utmost dedication, sincerity, sensitivity and at the same time objectivity towards the subjects. It is the job of the fashion photographer to present clear expression to almost all the possible facets of style such as fabric, design, designer, model and the like. There are many fashion photography schools to train you.

Fashion Designing: Fashion designing is one of the most promising careers in fashion industry. It needs to have the ability to think, comprehend and implement the latest and original ideas in order to be successful in this field. Fashion dsigners can specialize in apparel, textile, accessory designer and many more.

Fashion Coordinator: A fashion coordinator is responsible for coordinating fabrics and trimmings, quality and design. He/she needs to keep a constant track of production schedules and needs to be aware of the status of buyers’ orders.

There are several career options that need to be explored by aspiring students. You can certainly excel in this field provided you believe in the proverb – “work is worship” and have immense potential to rise and make your mark in the fashion industry.

Writing Jobs

Finding a Work at Home Idea That Will Work for You

by Dr. Bradley T. Doolen

We've scoured the internet to find work at home opportunities that are legitimate and creative at the same time. You might have heard of offers to stuff envelopes and earn a thousand dollars a week but at the risk of sounding clichéd; if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. "Watch TV and earn twenty dollars an hour" seems like a really good work at home idea, but if such jobs really existed, why would the majority of the population endure long commutes, office politics, and mean bosses. This does not mean that there isn't any legitimate work at home opportunity out there: it just means you need to research the offer and find something which matches you skill set.

What Are You Good At?

If you are artistically inclined, then perhaps painting murals on children's bedroom walls might be a good work at home opportunity. You can start by doing friends' rooms for free or at a steep discount and create your portfolio. If you are a wordsmith, then you might like to help a new business with their flyers and brochures and start getting clientele by word-of-mouth. There are scores of profitable home based businesses listed on websites; however tread with caution. If writing and editing is your forte, then it might be a good idea to subscribe to a freelance job mailing list and see if you can score an assignment or two. Many people use their street-smart abilities to make money by turning their trash into someone else's treasure with the help of auction sites like eBay and Amazon. Some people even offer friends and family members to sell their unwanted stuff and charge a particular commission. Whether you charge a percentage or flat fee, exhausted new parents or time deprived professionals might not mind paying you a little to get rid of their stuff since they don't have time for garage sales or posting ads in the local paper. If you're tech savvy, you could earn a decent living by creating software packages and programs such as a database system for your local video store, a website for your apartment building, or an inventory system for your friend's gift basket business. Despite people spending big bucks on advertising and publicity, it is usually the word of mouth referrals that really land you the jobs.

The Downside of Being Your Own Boss

The important thing about work at home opportunities in whatever field there may be is not to have unrealistic expectations. Don't quit your day job thinking that you'll be paying all your bills by working a few hours a day. Always factor in the fact that by working at home, you're most probably going to be self-employed so you'll have to arrange for your own health insurance and you won't get paid time off. The day you don't work, you don't get paid.

You're also responsible for your own taxes which unlike when you work for a company, are deducted at source. You don't need a college degree to succeed at a work at home opportunity but you do need the self-discipline to be able to work without a boss breathing down your neck. You need to be motivated enough to not watch TV all morning long or have a two hour lunch break just because you have the luxury of working in your pajamas.

However, work at home opportunities are only limited to your imagination and creativity. Make jewelry, make scrapbook layouts or make lasagna in cooking classes. Be a dog sitter or be a baby sitter. Design clothes or design websites; organize files or organize lives - the sky is really the limit. Good Luck!

Career in Acting

Many people have wanted to know how they can get into acting. Sometimes a model realizes that he or she cannot make a full-time living with a modeling career. Other models are aware of their limitations such as height and bone structure. They know that beyond print work, it can be real tough to get into modeling. So they choose to step into the broader acting field.

Acting requires more specialized training than modeling does. Most actors and actresses get into acting by getting involved in theatre, dramas, plays and stage productions. Many actors and actresses also get into acting through an acting coach. An acting coach trains you much like an athletic coach does, except the muscle that is trained is your "acting muscle". You are trained in learning improvisation, cold reading, and acting methods. These are generally the basics for a beginning actor.

Once you have discovered how to get into acting, you will also need to know about the two types of productions exist for actors and actresses.

There is union work and non-union work. Union work is controlled by the Screen Actor's Guild and the AFTRA. If you are interested in doing union work you do need to be signed on with a Screen Actor's Guild franchise agent. A quick search on the internet on "SAG Agencies" will give you information to all the agencies that have access to the current job openings in your area.

For acting work that is non-union related, you can use other methods of searching to find work in your area, such as hiring an agent. If you have an agent, he or she will submit potential acting jobs to you. Job opportunities can also be found on websites like http://www.actingcastingcall.com that includes both a job forum and message board.

Your agent will need copies of your resume and your headshot picture. This is the best way to go in order to get into motion pictures, television or commercial work.

The reality is that you will need a break - to be asked to come to an audition. An audition is conducted at the office of the Casting Director. You will be reading "sides". A "side" is a small portion of the script. You may be able to acquire these small scripts in advance so that you can practice your acting skills.

Then, during your audition, someone opposite of you will actually act the role out while you read the "side". Be sure to ask the Casting Director what your motivation in the particular session will be so that you can put more of natural talent into it. It will help you to read the lines appropriately. There will be lots of other actors waiting to read for the very same role that you will be reading. Show business is competitive. Once you are done reading, you will go home and wait for your agent to call you with the good or bad news.

Another way to break into acting is to become an "extra". Many people make a partial living being an "extra" in movies or film. "Extras" are paid anywhere from being a volunteer to $200 a day on most movie sets. You can locate jobs as an extra actor by finding union films.

Below are some tips to get you started from the mere beginner to full time acting;

1.Join your local speech and drama clubs. If you're in school, join the theatre there. Usually, every major city has a theatre. 2.Brush up on acting skills - join classes, seminars, and events. Gain as much skill and experience as possible. 3.Read books - your local library will have books on acting. 4.Start small - don't try to go for the big parts if you are a new. Ask to be an "extra" or a stand-in. 5.Leverage the web. Job opportunities can be found on websites like http://www.actingcastingcall.com that includes both a job forum and message board.

With continued dedication and persistence, you will realize your dream of becoming an actor or actress. It takes hard work and relentless determination, but you know you can do it. The business is extremely competitive and the chances of big success are small - but there is a chance.
